The International Mg Society (IMS) is a non-profit organization. The purpose of the Society is to promote research, development and applications of magnesium and its alloys, to provide an academic exchange platform for all the magnesium scientists and engineers.

IMS holds international conferences on magnesium and supports the publication and presentation of scientific results.

The president of the International Mg Society (IMS) is Prof. Fusheng Pan. And the Vice president of the International Mg Society (IMS) are Prof. Karl Ulrich Kainer, Prof. Alan Luo and Prof. Kwang Seon Shin.

Journal of Magnesium and Alloys is the official journal for IMS.
