International Magnesium Science & Technology Award is founded by International Mg Society (IMS), Journal of Magnesium and Alloys (JMA), Caixing foundation, and other organizations with great importance to reward individuals or groups who have made important contributions to magnesium science and technology, with the aim to promote the development of magnesium science and technology, and to attract more scientists and engineers to engage in research, development and applications of magnesium and its alloys.
The Annual Award selection is conducted every year.
1. Annual Award is established to reward individuals or groups who have made important contributions to magnesium science and technology, with the aim to promote the development of magnesium science and technology, and to attract more scientists and engineers to engage in research, development and applications of magnesium and its alloys.
2. Annual Award is founded by International Mg Society (IMS), Journal of Magnesium and Alloys (JMA), Caixing foundation, and other organizations with great importance.
3. Annual Award is categorized as:
1) International Magnesium Award for Person of the Year. It is awarded to 1-3 persons who have made great contribution to research, development and applications of magnesium and magnesium alloys.
2) International Magnesium Award for Youth of the Year. It is awarded to 1-3 young persons under the age of 45 who have made important contributions to research, development and applications of magnesium and magnesium alloys.
3) International Magnesium Award for Excellent Paper of the Year. It is awarded to 1-3 papers on magnesium and magnesium alloys which have great impact.
4) International Magnesium Award for Excellent Thesis of the Year. It is awarded to 1-3 master and/or doctoral thesis on magnesium and magnesium alloys which have important achievements.
5) International Magnesium Award for Standard of the year. It is awarded to 1-3 groups who have made great contribution to standard development for magnesium and magnesium alloys.
6) International Magnesium Award for Innovative Process of the Year. It is awarded to 1-3 persons or groups who have made contribution to the process innovation of magnesium and magnesium alloys.
7) International Magnesium Award for Innovative Product of the Year. It is awarded to 1-3 persons or groups who have made important contribution to product innovation of magnesium and magnesium alloys.
4. Certificate and a prize of 2-5 thousand U.S. dollars per contributor will be issued to winners.
5. The award selection is conducted every year by the Award Committee. The Award Committee is responsible for the final decision of the above awards.
6. International Magnesium Award for Special Contribution on Innovation of the Year will be issued according to the research and development of Mg and Mg alloy. The Special Award Committee in the Award Committee is responsible for the selection. It is awarded to persons or group who have made special contribution on innovation which promotes the development of magnesium and magnesium alloys.
7. The Award Committee reserves the right to the interpretation of the above clauses.
