International Magnesium Science & Technology Award is founded by International Mg Society (IMS), Journal of Magnesium and Alloys (JMA), Caixing foundation, and other organizations with great importance to reward individuals or groups who have made important contributions to magnesium science and technology, with the aim to promote the development of magnesium science and technology, and to attract more scientists and engineers to engage in research, development and applications of magnesium and its alloys.
The Grand Award selection is conducted every three years.
1. Grand Award is established to reward the individuals or groups who have made outstanding contributions to magnesium science and technology, with the aim to promote the development of magnesium science and technology, and to attract more scientists and engineers to engage in research, development and applications of magnesium and its alloys.
2. Grand Award is founded by International Mg Society (IMS), Journal of Magnesium and Alloys (JMA), Caixing foundation, and other organizations with great importance.
3. Grand Award is categorized as:
1) International Magnesium Award for Lifetime Achievement. It is awarded to 2-4 researchers above the age of 60 or academicians who have made great contribution to research, development and applications for magnesium and magnesium alloys.
2) International Magnesium Award for Distinguished Scientists. It is awarded to 1-3 researchers under the age of 60 who have made significant and innovative contributions to research or industrialization of magnesium and magnesium alloys.
3) International Magnesium Award for Outstanding Youth. It is awarded to 1-3 young researchers under the age of 45 who have made important and innovative contributions to research or industrialization of magnesium and magnesium alloys.
4) International Magnesium Award for R&D Innovation. It is awarded to 3-5 researchers or groups who have made outstanding contribution to the R&D of magnesium and magnesium alloys.
5) International Magnesium Award for Innovative Application. It is awarded to 3-5 researchers or groups who have made outstanding contribution to the application of magnesium and magnesium alloys.
4. Certificate and prize will be issued to winners.
5. The award selection is conducted every three years by the Award Committee. The Award Committee is responsible for the final decision of the above awards.
6. The Award Committee reserves the right to the interpretation of the above clauses.
