OnFebruary 25, 2025, a six-member delegation led by Mr. Caiguang Yu, Director of the Forward-looking Innovation Department of Geely Auto's Technology Planning Center, visited the National Engineering Research Center for Magnesium Alloys (CCMG) at Chongqing University for technical exchange. Academician Fusheng Pan of Chongqing University, along with faculty members Xianhua Chen, Jia Hu, Jianbo Li, Guoqiang You, Jia She and Wenhui Yao, attended the meeting.
The two sides engaged in-depth discussions on the application of magnesium alloys in the automotive industry, aiming to promote their large-scale application, advance automotive lightweighting technologies, and contribute to energy conservation and emission reduction.
Theyalso explored the key technical challenges faced by the application of magnesium alloys in automobiles. The Chongqing University team put forward technical suggestions to address the problems encountered by Geely Auto in this area. Following fruitful exchanges, both parties reached a preliminary intention for technical cooperation. In the future, they will further strengthen collaboration to accelerate the Research and Development and innovation in magnesium alloy materials, promoting their widespread, high-quality application in the automotive industry and jointly contributing to a greener, more sustainable future for mobility.
