Chairman of Qinghai Salt Lake, Hongwei Yun and his delegation visit CCMg

On February 15, 2023, Party Secretary and Chairman of Qinghai Salt Lake Industry Co., Ltd., Hongwei Yun visited National Engineering Research Center for Magnesium Alloys. He had a detailed exchange and discussed relevant cooperation with Professor Fusheng Pan, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Chairman of the Chongqing Association for Science and Technology, Vice President of the Chinese Society of Materials Research (C-MRS).
In the exchange, Chairman Hongwei Yun emphasized that, we should adhere to the “resources + capital + technology + market” core development concept relied on the advantages of salt lake resources in the national “carbon peak”, “carbon neutral” and “energy consumption double control” policy background. We should adhere to the first impetus of scientific and technological innovation, focus on the development goal of salt lake magnesium and magnesium alloy deep processing industry, improve the comprehensive development capacity of salt lake magnesium industry. Chairman of Qinghai Salt Lake Special Magnesium Company, Zhanhong Lin introduced some of the needs and cooperation plans of Qinghai Salt Lake in magnesium and magnesium alloy in detail.
Academician Fusheng Pan put forward very good suggestions on the research progress and further in-depth cooperation of Qinghai Salt Lake Magnesium Industry Technology Research Institute. Both sides should further cooperate to improve the operation mechanism of Qinghai Salt Lake Magnesium Industry Technology Research Institute, make reasonable work plan and carry out innovative research work in several fields to provide strong technical support for the sustainable green development of salt lake magnesium industry.
Both sides also launched a full communication and discussion on the research and development of new magnesium alloy, magnesium-based hydrogen storage, magnesium batteries, large components die-casting, composite materials, welding technology of magnesium alloy, etc., and reached a consensus. Both sides will further strengthen cooperation to accelerate the integration and development of salt lake magnesium in new energy automotive lightweight applications, magnesium-based energy storage materials, etc., to promote the extension of the magnesium industry chain and achieve green and high-quality development of salt lake magnesium industry.
Chongqing University and Qinghai Salt Lake Company have carried out a lot of cooperation in the past, and built the Qinghai Salt Lake Magnesium Industry Technology Research Institute, which has achieved remarkable results. Qinghai Salt Lake Company is located in China's largest dry inland salt lake-Tsarhan Salt Lake, is one of the four advantageous resource-based enterprises in Qinghai Province, and is also the leading backbone enterprise in the Qaidam Circular Economy Pilot Zone. The magnesium metal integration project of Salt Lake Company has been highly valued by the state.
