Academician Fusheng Pan and his delegation visited Qinghai province at the invitation of Qinghai Provincial Government from September 25 to 26, 2021. On the morning of Sep. 26, Jianjun Wang, Secretary of Qinghai provincial Party committee, Changxing Xin, governor of Qinghai Province, and Li Zhang, vice governor of Qinghai Province met with Academician Fusheng Pan. They exchanged views on the development and comprehensive utilization of magnesium resources in Qinghai Salt Lake, raw magnesium smelting and new material development, platform construction and talent training, and discussed some innovative ideas for the comprehensive utilization of Salt Lake resources. Later, Changxing Xin, Governor of Qinghai Province, awarded the appointment letter of Scientific and Technological Consultant of Qinghai Provincial Government to Academician Fusheng Pan.
On the afternoon of September 26, 2021, the Science and Technology Department of Qinghai Province organized the "Consultation Symposium of Academician Fusheng Pan ". The Symposium mainly focused on the characteristic resource advantages of Qinghai Salt Lake, promoted the industrial value of magnesium resources in the Salt Lake based on science and technology, actively built and expanded the magnesium industry chain, strengthened the research and development and application of magnesium alloy energy storage materials, and provided scientific and technological support for Qinghai to accelerate the construction of the world salt lake industrial base. Academician Fusheng Pan delivered a special speech. Then the Reform Office of Qinghai Provincial Party Committee, the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Industry and Information Technology, the Department of Natural Resources, the Qinghai Salt Lake Magnesium Industry, the Qinghai Salt Lake Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Qinghai Yellow River Upstream Hydropower Development Company and other members had in-depth discussions and exchanges with Academician Fusheng Pan and the delegation members. After the symposium, a report of "Consultation on the High-Quality Development of Qinghai Salt Lake" was submitted to Qinghai Provincial government.
Chongqing University has carried out research on comprehensive utilization of Salt Lake resources for many years with relevant units in Qinghai Province, and jointly established China Salt Lake Magnesium Industry Technology Research Institute with Qinghai Salt Lake Group, which has achieved a number of technical achievements. Besides Academician Fusheng Pan, Professor Bin Jiang from Chongqing University and Professor Renju Cheng from Chongqing University of Technology also attended the symposium.
