The International Summit of Magnesium Materials Industry-University-Research Cooperation was held in Zhejiang, China

On March 19, 2023, the International Summit of Magnesium Materials Industry-University-Research Cooperation was held in Zhejiang. More than 400 international experts, scholars and entrepreneurs in the field of magnesium materials gathered together to make suggestions for the high-quality development of magnesium materials industry. The enterprise projects, Industry-University-Research and University-Government strategic cooperation were signed on the spot.

Prof. Pan Fusheng, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, President of International Mg Society and President of Chongqing Association for Science and Technology, Prof. Karl Ulrich Kainer, former President of International Magnesium Association and director of German National Magnesium Center, Prof. Kwang Seon Shin, Member of National Academy of Engineering of Korea and professor at Seoul National University in Korea, Mr. Wu Chuanyu, Vice Chairman of Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology, Mr. Li Binfeng, the deputy Mayor of Jinhua City, Mr. Dai Chong, the Secretary of Lanxi Municipal Committee, Mr. Zhu Junhua, the Mayor of Lanxi city, Mr. Zhang Weiping, the Director of Lanxi Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee, Mr. Fan Dongyan, the chairman of Lanxi CPPCC and other officials attended the forum.

Academician Pan Fusheng delivered and opening speech for the Summit. He pointed out that "Magnesium is a potential energy saving and lightweight material and a new generation of energy storage material due to its advantages of abundant resources, low cost and excellent performance. The wide application of magnesium material helps lightweight, energy saving and emission reduction, and helps the country achieve the goal of "double carbon". Under the background of the new era, the magnesium material industry has encountered a golden opportunity for development. To seize the major development opportunities of magnesium material industry and further expand and strengthen the magnesium material industry, it needs the unremitting efforts and strong support of government departments, experts, scholars and entrepreneurs. The purpose of this summit is to focus on the national development strategies, continue to deepen the cooperation of Industry-University-Research, accelerate the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, realize the deep integration of innovation chain, talent chain and industrial chain, and promote the advanced technology of magnesium materials to better meet the needs of economic development and enterprise development. Through strengthening policy support, building development platform, accelerating industry cultivation, promoting talent gathering and other methods to achieve the above goals.
